New York Youth Symphony Extends Joshua Gersen’s Tenure through 2016/17 Season

New York, NY - The New York Youth Symphony (NYYS) is pleased to announce it has extended the contract of its music director, Joshua Gersen, through the 2016-17 season. Mr. Gersen, who was recently appointedAssistant Conductor of the New York Philharmonic, continues his tenure in the footsteps of past New York Youth Symphony Music Directors, including Leonard Slatkin, David Alan Miller, Miguel Harth-Bedoya, Mischa Santora, and Paul Haas, among others. A national search for his replacement will begin in the fall of 2016.
