At its opening concert 50 years ago in 1963, the New York Youth Symphony took to the stage with the young, aspiring violin virtuoso Itzhak Perlman. Since then, NYYS has become the most awarded youth program of its kind in the nation, recognized for its innovative educational and commissioning programs for talented young musicians.
To celebrate the 50th Anniversary we will present a season-long celebration featuring special performances, commissions, and events. We hope that you will join us in celebrating this exciting milestone!
